A Quick, Simple Exercise For Finding Your Vision

Finding your vision is not easy. Read on to use a simple exercise to make it easy to find your vision today…

finding your vision

Your life is your work of art, and you can lean into creating your story by finding your vision.

You are in a conscious dream. It’s built out of  the bricks of your intentions and the mortar of what you believe is possible for you.

It all starts with finding your vision and launching it with goals.

When you set goals, you’re obligated to come up with a provisional plan.

But when you act on these plans, you’ll find that they don’t work. Reality is always different from what you expect. Things that you expect to happen, fail to happen. And most of the things that you don’t think about do happen.

But once you’ve set your course, it doesn’t matter anymore — because now you’re in motion and shaping your dream.

You’re in the flow of creation. And you can shift and dance, learn and grow, change and adjust.

Along the way, your biggest disappointment will be the reaction of those closest to you. They just can’t see it for you. They only see you the way they have always known you.

And that’s when the journey gets lonely, and your troubles begin.

The stars stop coming out at night. Your spontaneous happiness disappears like a soap bubble. And angels don’t whisper in your ear when you sleep anymore.

It’s a test by the gods of karma. Will you waver and give up? Or will you stay the course although all hope seems lost?

If you’ve decided to follow your vision and build your dream, then things will slowly turn around. Even the merciless forces of entropy can’t stop the human spirit when it is determined to win.

When things break down, you build something else, and when the path disappears, you find another. Every time you lose the thread of the plot, you pick it up again.

That’s when you realized that you can do it. While you can’t always win all the battles, you can win the war.

As you lean into your dream, things change for the better. The stars come out again. Your angels walk with you. And family and friends who ridiculed you, now stand by your side and champion your cause.

With each small victory, your intention gets stronger. As you continue, you became unstoppable.

Rest when you can and cry if you must, but don’t turn your back on your dream. If you do, you’ll never be you. You’ll just be an echo, an imitation, a possibility of what might have been.

Lean into your dream, and invent your future.

Finding Your Vision

The best way to predict the future is to imagine it. Your imagination, as Einstein once pointed out, is more important than your knowledge.

Your imagination is what opens the door of possibility. After finding your vision, you will find out what you need to learn to get what you want.

You will feel much more alive once you choose to invent a new future.

The reality you live in now was created from your past experiences. If you’re thinking about finding your vision right now, then your current reality is too small for your magnificent soul.

How to Nourish Your Imagination

If you don’t have a dream, then you’ve discouraged yourself. You’ve decided that you don’t have the resources to be successful.

You believe that you don’t have enough time, money, education, support, or experience.

But a lack of resources is never an issue when you’re committed!

It’s easy to get started on any venture without any resources. In time, resources will show up when you need them. Even the largest dreams started from humble beginnings.

How to Build Your Script

Your dream is your script. You are the producer, director, writer, and actor of your own life drama.

1. Begin with unlimited resources.

Instead of thinking about how to get the resources you need to build your dream, work backward.

Imagine that you have all the resources that you need right now.

Let’s walk through this process:

a. Step back in time.

If you could go back twenty years, what would you do? Would you go back to school? Start your own company? Become a philanthropist? Own a digital empire?

Imagine that you have unlimited options. Think big.  This can be an excellent way to determine your life’s purpose.

If you had all the resources you need, what would you do?

b. People your world.

Would you be alone or married? How many friends would you have?

Describe your friends. Describe your neighbors. How many children would you have?

If you dream of owning your own business, describe your employees and clients.

c. Choose your ideal home.

Would you stay put or move to the beach? How many homes would you own? What color would your dining room be?

Consider the geographical location and the actual dwelling. There are hundreds of castles for sale at any time. You’ll need a butler, though.

d. Envision your perfect day.

What time would you get out of bed? What would you do first? How would you spend your day? How would spend your evening?

How much free time would you have and how would you spend it? Whom would you see? Would you play golf every Thursday or race cars on the weekend?

2. Take the first step.

Now that you know what you want, it’s time to think of your first step.

Perhaps you need to go back to school. Or you need a higher paying job.

Decide on your first practical step.

3. Open up your mind.

By thinking about unlimited resources, you open up your mind. You begin to think about what’s possible.

As you progress, your understanding and your resources will grow.

Warren Buffett started with a paper route. Now he’s one of richest men in the world. You can probably get a better start than a paper route, and your dreams are likely smaller.

Give yourself a chance to make your vision work.

4. Act as if it were impossible to fail.

What if you decided that your chosen destiny was inevitable.

Once you fashion a dream and lean into it, then unexpected help shows up.

Much of this help will come from your untapped ingenuity. The rest will come from sources you can’t even imagine right now.

People who have achieved impossible things believed it was possible. They believed in the evidence of things not yet seen. They acted with faith. They had confidence when there was no reason for it.

Dream Big Dreams and Make Them Come True

You are much more magnificent than you think. Give yourself a chance to be the person you know you are inside.

Everything starts with the courage to dream. Take the first step, and the next will appear.

In this way, you will rise out of whatever distressing situation you find yourself in now, and you will live a life that fulfills you.

First, build your script to get clear on what you want to have, be, or do.

Then, create a plan to help you excel in your life.

Finally, focus on your dream long enough for it to become your experience.
